Židovská menšina v Československu po druhé světové válce [The Jewish Minority in Czechoslovakia after the Second World War]

A collection of papers focusing on hitherto little-known topics relating to Jewish history in Czechoslovakia after the Second World War. The papers are from a lecture series given at the Jewish Museum's Education and Culture Centre in Prague in 2008. Their aim is to show what future strategies and modes of life were chosen by the Jewish minority whose surviving members had been deprived of their homes, health and property and had to deal with the problem of deep discontinuities in their life experiences. Considering that historical debate and specialist literature on this topic have to date been very limited, this collection of papers is an important and interesting contribution that adds to the mosaic of understanding with regard to the fate of Czech and Slovak Jews in the 20th century. It was put together by Miroslava Ludvíková, Blanka Soukupová and Peter Salner. In Czech, 179 pp., 8 pages of black-and-white illustrations.
