Hella Guth – Dissolved Figures

Catalogue for the exhibition of artworks by Hella Guth at the Jewish Museum's Robert Guttmann Gallery. Hella Guth (1908–1992) studied in Prague in the 1930s, where she spent part of her youth. Most of her work, however, was created in the difficult conditions of exile and in the face of international competition in London and Paris. Thanks to her diligence and talent, however, Guth managed to achieve relatively widespread acclaim not only in the 1950s and 60s but also in recent times, which have seen a rediscovery of her work in several galleries in France and Germany. The first ever solo exhibition in Prague of Guth’s works was prepared at the Robert Guttmann Gallery for the 100th anniversary of the artist’s birth.
