Sunday workshops
Dear parents,
We offer regular workshops for your children from five years of age. The workshops take place in Prague and Brno once a month,
on Sundays. The children are introduced to Jewish culture, traditions and customs in a playful way.
In each topic-related workshop you can expect storytelling, crafts, a taste of the traditional Jewish cuisine, and even Jewish
dances or songs. Prague programs accompanied by Aryeh, the lion, will introduce our youngest visitors to the Hebrew letters,
main holidays and Old testament characters and it will guide them through various Jewish historical sites. Children and their
parents from Prague will have a guided tour through one of the museum's exhibitions, or they can explore the Golem legend
in its actual settings. The workshops take place at Maiselova 15, on the ground floor.
In the Brno branch of the Department of Education and Culture of the Jewish Museum in Prague, the Sunday workshops titled
Shalom and welcome take place this year in the auditorium of the Touristic and Information center of the Jewish Community
in Brno at the Jewish Cemetery in Brno-Židenice and will allow its participants to peek into a religious traditional Jewish
household. The visitors will find out, what does kosher mean, where should a mezuzah or a mizrah be placed, how many commandments
are hidden in a talit and much more. These workshops also include a crafts activity connected to given topic supervised by
our instructor.
The workshops are supported by the Foundation for Holocaust Victims.
