The entries selection comes from the book “Dictionary of Judaica” (2005), which was written by a group of authors led by Eva Kosáková . Entries were further processed by Jaroslav Kuntoš, Dana Veselská, Olga Sixtová, Michaela Scheibová and Lenka Uličná. The book can be purchased at our e-shop.
Circumcision set
A set of instruments for performing a circumcision on a new born boy. It usually comprises a double-edged knife with a rounded end, a circumcision shield, a small receptacle or a bottle of healing powder and a bowl for the separated foreskin. The instruments are kept in an appropriate case. They are made mostly of silver, but sometimes also of silver-plated, coloured metals.
