Shiva Asar be-Tamuz (17 Tamuz)
A fast is held in memory of the day on which the walls of Jerusalem were broken down in 586 B.C.E. by the Babylonian army. This starts a three-day period of mourning, which ends on 9 Av, to which relates a number of prohibitions.
